There is an old saying, which states that the wisdom of Manjursi (Monju) lies in putting together three heads, and which are better than one. The figure of Manjusri (Monju) Bodhisattva is greatly endowed with wisdom. In his left hand, Monju holds scriptures that confer wisdom, and in his right hand he holds a sword that can cut off delusion.
Bodhisattva refers to a living person who seeks enlightenment. In reality, a Bodhisattva practices Buddhism in society and is a Buddha that acts in behalf of the Nyorai. A Bodhisattva's function is in saving humans from delusion.
Manjusri (Monju) Bodhisattva not only cuts off the mistaken ideas of the world, but also evil thoughts and actions. Manjusri also corrects the ignorance and delusions that people may have. He also dispenses true wisdom and delivers joy.
